Karamoja Action for Youth Transformation (KAYT) first started in 2019 as a VSLA formed by a group of youth in Kiru town council, Abim district with the aim of achieving economic transformation through savings and borrowing to promote small scale and medium businesses. Besides savings, they further advanced to carrying out a number of economic activities like bricks making, piggery, poultry among others.
In 2022, KAYT was registered as a grassroot/community based organization with the desire to enhance and have youth with a vision towards gender equality, social justice and economic transformation of young people who face a lot of problems and uncertainties regarding their future and livelihoods.
